About me

Hello,

My name is Lies. I am, first and foremost, a proud mom of two amazing kids and a happy wife.

Should you wonder what a strange name I have, it's a true Flemish name, in English pronounced as "Lees" - not lies as in lying - as to avoid misunderstandings :-) Perhaps that's exactly a good start to make.

Lies are quite the opposite of one of my aspirations in life: authenticity.
Other values I find really important: integrity, freedom, sustainability, reliability, being helpful and showing respect.

I have learned these core values are important to me from my professional experience, but also by taking a deeper dive into myself and making the time for some introspection, i.e touching base with myself.

I have started my professional career in an automotive operational business, where I soon got the chance to develop to an operations manager position for that business. It was in this role, that I got introduced to coaching, either coaching my people but I was also really lucky that the company invested in some personal coaching sessions for myself.
How I loved these times and today I am still looking back at the amazing things I learned and achieved for my team, but foremost for myself.

I knew I had the right mind-set to connect with people and I challenged myself to use this capacity to get some experience in sales and become a successful sales person.

But then... coaching - I was truly missing this bit. A positive effect from the corona crisis for me was to have some more time to spend on my personal development. So it didn't take me long to find Better Minds Academy where I subscribed to their Basic Course for Professional Coach, which I have completed successfully in December 2020. In the meantime I am further expanding my knowledge via a specialised training as Organisational Coach.

This learning experience didn't only feel absolutely the right thing to do, it also gave me some invaluable insights in myself and what I want for myself in the future.
The seed for Touch-Base was planted!
