Be bold - Be brave - Be you
But now what does that mean?
Who are you, truly?
This question is one we all have to answer at some point in our lives, no matter the age we are. For many of us, it's recurring, whilst the answer might need redefinition at certain stages in our lives.
We often tell each other "just be yourself!" This is easy to say, but often many people are challenged to express who they are, in a society where (re)discovering their identity can often involve many layers which all affect their sense of self.
These layers can be a school or work environment, influence of friendships, expectations of the family, cultural diversity, media and many others that can have an important impact. Think of the pressure to keep face amongst colleagues or to give in to peer pressure and other expectations that can create barriers to discover one's true identity. Often it can seem easier to hide behind people, places or even things as social media, fashion and make-up to portray the "perfect image".
Now then, how do we discover our unique identity and learn to be confident enough to share it with the world around us, both professionally and privately?
Be bold - Show that your courage is bold by being confident on the in- and outside. Become bold enough to share who you are with others. Your daily boldness will encourage and inspire others to do the same.
Be brave - Bravery can be stepping up, out of your comfort zone, and taking some risks. However, true bravery is also found when being ourselves and accepting who we are on the inside.
Be you - You are unique, there is no one else in this world that can be you. You were created to look the way you do and think the way you do for a purpose. If you choose to be bold and brave as you are discovering who you are, slowly but surely you will know how to be bold-brave and you(nique)!
